The spring ’17 Prada runway show featured whimsical slides, which lent the right attitude to everything from tailored trenches to pajamas. At Lanvin beaded black slides shown with layers of silky stripes added an air of nonchalance. Slides work with everything from jeans to dresses, but I like it best when paired with something unexpected.
This summer clearly requires an embellished slide, though not necessarily the pricey versions touted above. True to my year of designer free living pledge, I’ve located plenty of affordable slides that pack as much punch as their more expensive counterparts, making it easier to experiment and have fun with them.
