Labor Day has passed, the US Open is in full swing and New York Fashion Week begins today. There are roughly one hundred shows and presentations in eight days. This time around I’ll post my favorites daily on Prima Darling as well as Prima Darling Instagram and Twitter. Hope you’ll follow me and check in daily. Those of you who already follow me know I’m always on the lookout for new talent and emerging brands. I’m more interested in progressive style over runway theatrics and hunting for the game changers, be it trends, silhouettes, or particular pieces for a functioning wardrobe.
To start us off two brands of note released photos yesterday of their spring ’18 looks. TSE and Partow both lean heavily in the knit department and experimented with the long and lean or long and loose silhouette I feel strongly for. Here are my favorites; you can follow the links to see the complete collections.
I missed Maison Rabih Kayrouz when they showed in July. Their relaxed tailoring and shirting djellabas are worth a look back.
With another Fashion Week upon us the ongoing debate continues as to the future of New York Fashion Week. Vogue.com interviewed a varied group of industry insiders to ask what their predictions and thoughts on the future of Fashion Week are. One thing they all could agree on is that Fashion Week serves an important purpose for the industry but change is inevitable. It’s a worthwhile read you can see here.
