A Silky ’17

Anna Anderson Helmut Newton 1974

I’ve had a strong feeling for silk for a while now. Silk blouses, silk pants, silk tunics and silk dresses all feel right to me. I love the idea of head to toe silk dressing for spring ’17 but for right now a great way to spice up your heavy winter clothes is to slip on a silk blouse first.

Weather with a wool pencil skirt, a fuller midi skirt or tucked into high waisted pants a silk blouse feels sensuous and newer and will take you right into spring. When it’s super cold you can wear it under a chunky cardigan. It’s a great layering piece to get you through the winter.

Chloe, FRS, Pucci and Joseph consistently offer great looking silk blouses and right now there’s a decent selection on sale. See my links below, though if you’re all shopped out from the holidays think about the silk inspiration shots at the beginning of the post and how to work that mood into your spring wardrobe.
