On Friday Eric and I stopped into the light filled minimalist haven Tiina in Amagansett. The shop houses a well-curated collection of under the radar labels that share an appreciation for intelligent design and understated luxury. Think chic, worldly, Scandinavian hippy if that helps.
One label discovered there was Toogood out of London. The clothes are sold as unisex and consist of well cut oversized jackets and coats with big pants and inventive shirts. Each piece surprised us with clever tailoring and details. There was one oversized charcoal grey coat in cashmere with three-quarter sleeves, seamed to have a permanent bend to the arm. I fell in love with it but the $5,900.00 price tag made it a short-lived romance.
Other labels of note are The Elder Statesman for super soft cashmere sweaters with an already broken in feel, Sofie D’Hoore for architectural oversized tops and an uncommon selection of Ancient Greek Sandals.
The jackets and coats from Bergfable also deserve a mention.
Adorably sophisticated baby clothes, jewelry and tabletop are also offered. If you’re in the area next Saturday stop by for their fashion yard sale or check out their web site here.
