Street style stars captured outside the fashion shows give us a glimpse of high fashion in the field. Street style has become an industry in and of itself and much more democratic than the fashion industry at large. Though some are vying for the photographers’ attention with gimmicks and others are paid to play, there are still many authentically stylish women to take note of. I’m particularly inspired by street style stars over forty, dressed and accessorized in their own clothes and killing it. There’s a noticeable sense of ease and comfort with who they are and what they’re wearing. Confidence is the not so secret ingredient but equally important is they continue to take risks up to their individual edge. Age should never be a reason to play it safe.
