As I was searching for images for my Do’s and Don’ts for Aging Gracefully at the Beach story, I came upon a photo of a striking woman wearing the perfect high waisted pant over a halter bathing suit. Upon further investigation I learn she is Jesse Kamm, ex therapist, ex model, surfer and founder of her own eponymous clothing line.
Kamm has her priorities straight. She’s not interested in amassing stuff, or building an empire, choosing instead a simple life with freedom to spend 3 months of the year off the grid surfing in Panama with her husband and son in a house they built by hand.
Her company and product reflect her conscientious approach to life. For her sailor pant, the mainstay of the collection, she uses durable, high quality fabrics and produces everything in her hometown of Los Angeles in order to support the local community. It’s easy to see why the pants have become a cult favorite for those in the know. They’re flattering, versatile and destined to become your go-to pant. I can’t wait to order mine, if only I could decide on which fabulous color to go with.
The ethos of the company and the well-designed product are exactly what I had hoped to find during my Year of Designer Free Living. Learn more about Jesse Kamm here.
