Spring tops whether shirts or tees, cotton or silk, are pivotal pieces in your spring/summer wardrobe. Often they act as the glue the holds an outfit together. The right striped tee under a blazer or suit can add just the right amount of pattern and attitude to save you from looking corporate. An oversized white tuxedo shirt worn for day with jeans or slim pants and statement accessories could be a great fall back outfit as we discussed in last Monday’s post.
Shirts this season should be cut on the generous side. Tee shirts can run the gamut from fitted to relaxed, but personally for under this season’s oversized jackets I prefer a more fitted tee for some definition. I also like the look of a fitted tee tucked into a high waisted pant with a generous leg.
Another spring top that’s good to have on hand is an easy silk shirt. Below are my favorites with images for inspiration. And as promised in the title, all are less than 200 dollars.
Two last thoughts; don’t forget a little scarf action at the neck, most of these tops beg for it. It’s best to stock up now on spring tops, sizes are already beginning to sell out. You can wear any of these right away and they’ll see you clear through summer, performing double duty for trips to the beach or country. This year big shirts with a pareo will be my beach cover up of choice.
