Winter-to-Spring Transition Pieces That Keep On Giving

Winter-to-Spring Transition Pieces

Saturday we had snow in New York, by Wednesday it was in the mid fifties and sunny. Such is the unpredictable weather we have here. One thing is for sure; you can count on a relatively chilly spring. Before sandals and full-out summer wear is appropriate there is that in-between no man’s land of seasons which requires its own sartorial strategy with staples that can segue back to fall/winter or forward to spring/summer. Trusty workhorses of the wardrobe you could call them. These winter-to-spring transition pieces will keep on giving all year. Oh, and don’t forget the transitional spring coat written about last week and you’ll be ready of anything.

Raey cashmere sweater

Consider this Raey cashmere sweater a down payment for fall. The oversized, long sweater has been all over the fall ’18 runways. Wear it now with a tee shirt underneath, if it gets too hot wrap it around your neck  à la Calvin Klein. On a chilly day wear under an oversized trench.

Hortensia bag

The color of this Wandler bag works equally as well in winter or spring, the shape and make is sporty yet still refined, in all, the perfect bag at a reasonable price. It’s selling out all over but can be pre-ordered.

These canvas Veja’s are the perfect white summer sneaker you can start wearing now.

Khaite

Ivory is the new white at least as far as jeans are concerned. I would wear them in summer with a crisp white shirt tucked into the high waist with a great belt and sandals the color of the above-mentioned bag. I’m sure Khaite’s slim ivory jeans will be in heavy rotation all spring and summer.
