As the days get shorter and the weather gets cooler I’m noticing a trend to buck the inclination for more subdued, autumnal colors. Particularly when it comes to chunky, oversized sweaters; knits in warm hues of red, orange, yellow and pink look right this fall. With all the grey skies we’ve had in New York and the constant turmoil of the politics of our nation, bright and cozy knits are just the lift needed to forge ahead with a smile. The photo of the woman above, taken by Jonathan Daniel Price for Vogue UK, is a perfect of example of everything that’s right about bright knits for this fall. I love that she went the extra mile and wore a bright pant as well, though brights can just as easily mix with your favorite fall neutrals, as in the photo below. Here, a selection of bright knits to buy now.
