Fresh Faces at Chanel

Despite the twin robots that opened the Chanel show and the mainframe computer set, the hair and makeup was anything but high tech. One might have expected a severe visage on the unmasked models that followed. Instead the girls had fresh faces with nearly bare eyes, natural brows and clear rosy lips and cheeks. A face easily adapted for real life. Maybe Mr. Lagerfeld was emphasizing that despite all the technology that increasingly informs our lives it’s essential that we stay in touch with our true selves and the natural world around us. Just a thought…
