I do this all the time. Living in New York I do a lot of walking and I’ve learned over the years that doing the old switcheroo not only saves my feet and makes it a hell of a lot easier getting around town but it also saves my shoes which are quite an investment these days. The tricky part is where to change without drawing too much attention. I became an expert of the elevator change but that can’t involve laces or buckles. A Taxi or Uber is another good one but sometimes you just have to embrace it like this very chic woman is here and do it right in the open.
Now that sneakers aka trainers are a fashion staple you can switch for comfort without feeling like an eighties extra in 9 to 5. I also like to have a little pointed ballet flat tucked in my bag, very easy to slip into as well.
