The older I get the more I feel I have to swap out my cashmere beanies for a more stylish solution to warm the head. I’m a big believer in hats. The Harvard Health Letter of Harvard Medical School maintains that, “Even if the rest of your body is nicely wrapped up, if your head is uncovered you’ll lose lots of body heat – potentially up to 50% of it – in certain cold weather conditions.” That’s good enough for me, and I know from personal experience this to be true. I’m not a fedora person, nor am I a cowboy hat wearer under any circumstances. Luckily there are plenty of classically chic fall hats to choose from. I’m taking inspiration from two world-class hat wearers, Faye Dunaway and Catherine Deneuve. Here, timeless choices I’m sure they would approve of.
