I’m reluctantly back from a wonderful week at the beach. While catching up on Sunday two Resort collections stood out, Hermès and Zimmermann. Maybe because I am still in vacation mode, the Zimmermann resort appealed to me. Usually I find it a tad too frilly and feminine but this time out there was a tailored element that cut the sweetness and has a strong 70s vibe that I’m into right now.
I always look forward to Hermès for their timeless well-crafted pieces in leather and their famous silk prints worked into clothing. They delivered on both counts.
Midi skirts and dresses were featured in both collections confirming what I’ve already been feeling, the midi skirt is a thing and I’m loving it. I’ve been talking and writing about the midi for at least a year now but I’m still having trouble finding the midi skirt I so desperately wished I had on vacation. It’s a very flattering length, not as dramatic as the maxi and works with every kind of shoe from high-heeled boots to sneakers. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect midi skirt that can be dressed up or down and came up with a few possibilities to try now.
